Self-leadership: the foundation of everything

·Robin, Django·1 min read

Leadership doesn't start with your team. Not with your strategy. Not with your position.

Leadership starts with you.

Without self-leadership, every management technique is an empty shell. You can't pass on a strength you don't have. You can't demand a standard you don't live.

Self-leadership is the ability to steer, discipline and lead yourself. No excuses, no distractions, no victimhood. It is living what you say. Not sometimes. Always.

In this series we cover five pillars that form the foundation of powerful self-leadership:

1. Radical accountability

The choice to take 100% ownership of your results. Circumstances don't determine your situation. You determine your situation.

2. Leading your thinking

Every action starts with a thought. Whoever doesn't lead their thinking reacts on autopilot. A leader steers on purpose.

3. Integrity: keeping your word

Doing what you say you will do. Not when it suits you. Always. Integrity is the basis of credible leadership.

4. Commitment over feeling

Acting from a decision, not from motivation. Commitment creates consistent behaviour. Consistent behaviour creates results.

5. Creating results

Leadership doesn't show up in plans or intentions. It shows up in what you actually deliver.

We approach each pillar from two angles: what happens when you don't live this principle, and what you concretely have to do to live it.

No theory. No models. No soft stories.

Direct, confronting and applicable.
